St
Pius X Catholic School had cross country on Friday the 24th August. The
students were racing and the teachers were standing on the course to
make sure the kids were safe and the parents were cheering for their
children.
What
we did first was we had to sit in our ages at the courts. We raced in
two groups per age, the boys and girls. The little children had to run
around the hall and around the church and go around the court and sit at
their ages to finish.
When
all the little kids were finished it was the seniors turn. When we had
to run around the Whole course which was on the roads and you see a
teacher there. After we ran Mr Coakley ran and he had a rope, if he
tells you to hold it you hold it and keep up with him so that everyone
would finish.
Each
teacher had a flag and they were all standing on the road because some
roads we had to cross and some we did not. We ran and we had a hill but
if you sped down the hill you would get tired on your way so I didn’t
race it, I just jogged.
When
I finished coming back from the running I was thirsty. If you came in
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th you had to get your name recorded by Mrs
Williams as you might get a certificate.
I felt happy on friday because I was proud of me because even though I never came 1st I was still proud.
I am a Year 7 student at St Pius X in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 6 and my teacher is Mr Slade.

Apple Description
The fruit of the day is Granny Smith apples, we all got to eat one and see how it was tasted, it was sweet.
I had a yellow one, it was yummy. I wanted two apples but it was not fair to do that. It felt as hard as the ground and as round as a ball.
It sounded like crunchy bread that is burnt burn. The apple was so sweet that I could not eat it but it was my favourite. The apple was fresh and nice and so beautiful. It was heavy like a medium rock and it was soft on the inside, it was smooth on the outside. The apple tastes juicy and delicious.
Apples are seen at the shop, supermarket and the Super-value. It is used for salads and dessert. Granny Smiths are special because they are healthy and fresh .
Granny Smith apples are the best apple ever and it is so delicious and yummy. I wanted all the apples but there was only enough for the class.

Fraction-Week 5
What I already know about fraction is quarter and halves that I know and Denominator and Numerator.
What I like about fraction is that you can get the answer easier and faster.

Olympic Torch Description
The Olympic flame is always lit when the Olympics is on.
The flame is pretty because it is heavy, hot and bright and has lots of lovely petals. It is made out of metal (Copper) and sound like humming noises and like the wind.
The torch is seen at the Olympic Stadium and on the television. When the flame is lit it starts and when the torch is off it means it is finished.
The Olympic Torch is special to bring the counties together like a team. To make the Torch extra special each country gets to take home one of the petals of the torch at the end of the Olympics.
I think we are lucky that every country knows that the Olympic starts when the torch is lit.
